Summer Camp for the Family in Blue Ridge
Summer Camp is not just for kids! A family vacation in the small mountain town of Blue Ridge can be just like summer camp for the whole family.
Welcome to Camp Blue Ridge! Spend your days filled with fun and adventure and nights around the firepit eating campfire meals and s’mores for dessert. Experience the nostalgia and excitement of summer camp along with some needed R & R (rest and relaxation) for the grown-up kids.
Where to Stay
Rent a cabin in the mountains or camp under the stars. Most vacation rental cabins in Blue Ridge have firepits and game rooms. Rent a cabin on the Toccoa River for fishing, wading, skipping rocks and the sound of rushing water. Or stay on beautiful Lake Blue Ridge for kayaking, stand-up paddling, swimming, or boating. Whether in the mountains or on the water, cabins in Blue Ridge are the perfect setting for your family summer camp. If you like to camp, there are great options for RV or tent camping.
What to Do
Rise and Shine: Enjoy cool quiet mornings in the mountains, with fresh air, gorgeous views and a cup of coffee.
Family Hikes: Embark on a family adventure along the legendary Appalachian Trail to discover the picturesque Long Creek Falls. Closer to town, hike the Aska or Benton MacKaye Trails.
Zipline Adventures: Zip through the sky at Zipline Canopy Tours or try your luck at climbing at the Blue Ridge Adventure Park.
Horseback Riding: Ride horseback on mountain trails at one of several nearby riding stables.
Toccoa River Tubing, Kayaking & Rafting: Experience tubing or paddling in the chilly waters of the scenic Toccoa River, or go whitewater rafting on the nearby Ocoee River (12 years+).
Boating on Lake Blue Ridge: Rent a pontoon, kayak or stand-up paddle board and have some fun on Lake Blue Ridge. Morganton Point Recreation Area has kayak and paddleboard rentals and a pebble beach for swimming.
Picnics in the Park: Take a picnic to Tammen Park on the river in Blue Ridge or Horseshoe Bend Park in McCaysville and fish, play on the playground or skip some rocks in the river. Horseshoe Bend also has a new dog park.
Campfire Evenings: Gather around the campfire with your family, roast hot dogs, indulge in gooey s’mores, and harmonize with campfire songs under the starlit sky.
Stargazing: Search for constellations and .watch for fireflies on warm summer nights.
Lights Out! You will sleep like a baby after a day full of fun and relaxation at Camp Blue Ridge and be ready for more adventures the next day!
