Visitor spending supports our local community
The New Dog Park and Walking Path at Horseshoe Bend Park was made possible through Tourism Product Development Funds (hotel/motel taxes).
Arbor Day Partnership!
In a strong display of community collaboration and environmental stewardship, the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce & CVB, in partnership with Noontootla Creek Farms and the 6th grade students of Fannin County Middle School, celebrated Arbor Day with a significant conservation initiative aimed at restoring and enhancing the local ecosystem at Horseshoe Bend Park in McCaysville, GA.
Milkweed Giveaway
As a direct result of the Lights Off, Fireflies On! campaign that started in the summer of 2023, an enhanced initiative around milkweed is in full force in Fannin County! On May 1st, expert entomologist and friend of the Chamber, Becky Griffin with UGA Extension, taught a class at the Chamber about the importance of native milkweed and everyone was able to stratify milkweed seeds to take home.
According to the WHO (World Health Organization), approximately 16% of the global population, or over 1 billion people, live with some form of disability. This figure includes individuals with a range of disabilities, such as mobility, sensory, cognitive, and communication impairments.
